The album of 7 sacred chants is offered with love and gratitude to all my teachers and especially to honour Khandro Tsering Chodron, a Tibetan Dzogchen Master who taught me some of these chants and who passed away in 2011.
The album includes heart practices of Buddhism such as:
- the Heart Sutra mantra (Prajnaparamita)
- Compassion mantra – ‘Om mani padme hum shri’
- the ‘wish fulfilling jewel’ all accomplishing practice of the Vajra Guru Mantra
- Chöd – a practice for letting go
- Medicine Buddha
- Vajrasattva 100 syllable mantra for healing and purification
the mantra available for you to listen to is a Blessing Mantra written by my late teacher Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche
A small booklet (PDF) outlines the essential meaning of each practice.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama has often spoken about sharing the heart and wisdom of Buddhism widely in simple ways. So whether or not you are familiar with the practices of which these mantras form a part, or if you are someone who happens to have come across these mantras on your path – please use them as an aid to your meditation, or simply to relax, listen and absorb the energy.
SPONSORING “THE LEMON TREE CLINIC”
A percentage of the proceeds of this CD will help fund ‘The Lemon Tree Clinic” under the auspices of ‘The Flame Foundation.’ This developing clinic aims to support the treatment of people suffering from complex trauma and Dissociative Identity Disorder (D.I.D) who otherwise find it difficult to access treatment through the health services. Clinical evidence has established that twice weekly therapy of between 2 to 5 years is the most effective treatment for this very disadvantaged client group, (one year of therapy costing approximately £5,000.)
We would be very grateful for any donation you can offer. Thank you very much for your help.
